Meet Luanne "Annie" Hunt - Artistic Director & Producer
Multi-award-winning recording artist, playwright, screenwriter, and documentary filmmaker Luanne “Annie” Hunt has been carving out a distinguished career in the performing arts for more than four decades.
Annie’s creative journey began in the mid-1980s when she became House Manager at the Broadway Playhouse in San Gabriel, California, where she also assistant directed and acted in numerous stage productions, including Hair, Hotel Paradiso, On Golden Pond, and Equus. Early in her career, she studied under Harriet and Fred Vaugeois, seasoned theater professors and directors who went on to found the Southern Colorado Repertory Theater in Trinidad, Colorado — a mentorship that deeply shaped her artistic foundation and vision for community-based theater.
In the early 1990s, Annie founded The Talent Network, a Southern California company providing vocal performance and stage training for students of all ages. This success led her to establish the Rancho Cucamonga Performing Arts Theater, where she wrote and directed several original plays and musicals. She went on to become a theater critic for the Long Beach Press-Telegram, reviewing professional and community stage productions throughout Southern California.
Her theater credentials include choreographing major productions of Annie and A Christmas Carol, as well as writing and directing two original works — Let Us Look for Love, a heartwarming musical about John Denver, and Dove Lessons, an inspirational play chronicling a woman’s escape from an abusive marriage.
In 2007, Annie’s parallel career in music flourished with the release of her acclaimed album Breaking Through, which featured the No. 1 international indie hit Solace in the Wind. She has since released 24 studio albums, earning multiple chart-toppers and awards, including for her beloved holiday single Christmas Without You (Patsy Cline’s Lost Christmas Song).
Her visionary leadership in the performing arts earned her a career milestone when she was hired to spearhead the opening of a $20 million state-of-the-art performing arts theater in Barstow, California at Barstow Community College, overseeing creative programming and operational planning for the new facility.
Today, Annie continues to expand her artistic influence as co-founder of Stellar Stage Multimedia Productions, Inc., a nonprofit entertainment company based at the Grand Oaks Resort in Weirsdale, Florida. Alongside her husband, producer Jim Bellacera, she develops and stages a wide range of live events — from original plays and musicals to concerts, supper clubs, and multimedia experiences.
Since relocating to Florida in 2021, she has directed and produced several acclaimed productions, including For the Love of Country (for The Villages for Veterans 501(c)(3)) and Nashville Nights!, a songwriter showcase inspired by the famous Music City rounds.
Through every endeavor, Annie remains dedicated to her lifelong mission: to uplift, inspire, and unite communities through the transformative power of live theater and music.
