BEFORE THE HITS: GLEN CAMPBELL, THE WRECKING CREW & THE BEACH BOYS
Long before Glen Campbell became a household name, he was already helping create the soundtrack of America.
As a highly respected Los Angeles session guitarist, Campbell became part of the legendary group of studio musicians known as The Wrecking Crew, playing on recordings during one of the most exciting eras in American popular music.
His extraordinary musicianship also led to a remarkable chapter with The Beach Boys. When Brian Wilson stopped touring with the group, Campbell went on the road with The Beach Boys in 1964 and 1965, performing with them before his own rise to television and recording superstardom.
These early years reveal another side of Glen Campbell: not simply a famous singer, but an accomplished musician whose guitar was part of the musical world that helped define the 1960s.
THE GLEN CAMPBELL GOODTIME HOUR • WHEN GLEN BECAME A TELEVISION STAR
Glen Campbell's success reached far beyond the recording studio. The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour brought his music, personality and easygoing style into millions of American homes on CBS and helped make him one of the most recognizable entertainers of his generation.
The popular television variety show combined music, comedy and guest appearances, giving audiences another way to experience the entertainer behind songs such as Wichita Lineman, Galveston and By the Time I Get to Phoenix.
For many fans, Glen Campbell wasn't simply someone they heard on the radio. He was someone they welcomed into their homes through television, creating memories that remain connected to an unforgettable era of American entertainment.
Rhinestone Rewind brings those memories back to life, combining Glen Campbell's music with multimedia, imagery and stories from his extraordinary career.
